Learn How to Ace the 11+ with Our Mock Exams!

Our Year 5 Buckinghamshire (GL-style), Slough (Quest-style), Kendrick (GL-style), Reading School (FSCE-style) and South West Herts Consortium (GL-style) 11+ Mock Exams are £80 each and you’ll receive a discount if you book more than one exam at the same time.

Slough and Kendrick exams with the same letter are different papers but share some questions. They cannot be selected together in the same booking, and we recommend choosing different letters even when booking separately, for example, Slough A and Kendrick B.

An 11+ mock test is included at the end of each of our Year 5 summer courses. You can supplement this by booking alternative mock exams below.

The Marie Redmond Tuition® Difference

We Provide More Insights!

With our unique marking system, QuickMark® by Marie Redmond, we share critically important insights (where relevant to your child), that could make all the difference to their 11+ outcome. This could include but not be limited to: poor concentration levels in the exam hall; general behaviour; incorrect answer sheet marking technique and skipped questions. Our students receive valuable feedback to ensure that in subsequent mock exams and in their real 11+ test, they won’t make the same mistakes again.  Our software shares valuable insights to ensure that your child is fully prepared for their big day.

Free, Unlimited Changes for Greater Flexibility and Peace of Mind

With Marie Redmond Tuition you can make as many amendments to your child’s 11+ mock exam session as you wish, at no extra cost, either to an alternative 11+ mock test paper or your booking date. It’s easy to make a change too, and you can do so by simply logging into your account. All we require is at least 72 hours’ notice before the date of the 11+ mock exam booking you wish to change.

FAQs

What Is the Difference Between Exam Sessions (e.g. A, B, C, D, E, F and G)?

What does each exam session include?

Each mock exam session (e.g. exam A) simulates the real 11+ experience as closely as possible, with the same level of difficulty, number of papers, length of papers, and timings. For instance, if your child takes the Buckinghamshire Exam A, they will sit two papers with a short break in between, just like the actual exam.

How many mock exams can my child sit?

Your child can sit multiple mock exams, choosing different papers for the exam types they are preparing for. We offer 7 Buckinghamshire exams (A to G), 5 Slough, 5 Kendrick, 2 South West Herts and 3 Reading School papers.

Within each exam type, papers with different letters do not repeat questions. As one paper cannot cover every question type, attending additional sessions gives your child a broader range of practice.

Slough and Kendrick exams with the same letter are different papers but share some questions. These cannot be selected together in the same booking. To avoid repeating questions, we recommend choosing different letters even when booking separately, for example, Slough A and Kendrick B.

Do the exams need to be sat in order?

In most (but not all) cases, our exam season begins with paper A and ends with paper G. However, papers can be sat in any order. They are designed to reflect the real 11+ exam as closely as possible and therefore the difficulty level of each exam is the same.

Does Marie Redmond Tuition provide copies of the 11+ mock exam papers or completed answer sheets?

Your child’s 11+ mock exam papers and completed answer sheets will not be released. Questions answered correctly are not included in the feedback or available separately on request. Keeping the complete papers confidential helps prevent questions being shared with children who have yet to sit the exam. This protects the fairness of the tests and makes comparisons between students’ results and rankings more meaningful. It also protects our original exam content.

Does Marie Redmond Tuition accommodate children who require extra time to sit their 11+ mock exam?

We welcome bookings for all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). However, as our 11+ mock exams are held in a single room, we are unfortunately unable to provide exam access arrangements such as additional time, rest breaks, or a separate room. These adjustments are available in many school settings but cannot be accommodated within our venue and exam format.

If your child normally receives additional time or other access arrangements in school, they are still very welcome to sit our mock exam. Please bear in mind that their score may not reflect the mark they could achieve under their usual exam conditions. As we do not have sufficient comparative data, we are unable to estimate how much difference additional time or other access arrangements might make to an individual child’s result.

Do the Year 5 summer courses include a mock exam?

Yes. If your child attends any Marie Redmond Tuition 5-day Summer Course, an 11+ mock test is included at the end of their course. This is included in the course fees and does not need to be booked separately; however, you can supplement this with a number of additional mock exams below.

Please check our summer course page to discover which test papers are already included in our summer courses. For example, if your child attends week 1 of our summer course and is preparing for the Buckinghamshire test, they will sit GL Assessment-style mock test paper E on the final day of the course. If you book any of our Year 5 summer courses, we will contact you to let you know which additional exams are suitable for you to book.

Can you pay using Tax-Free Childcare, Childcare Vouchers or the Childcare Grant Payment Service?

We welcome payment by Tax-Free Childcare, Childcare Vouchers or the Childcare Grant Payment Service. Simply select this payment option when booking and we’ll hold your child’s mock exams for 7 days. If your payment is received within 7 days, your booking will be finalised and we will notify you by email.

Each exam letter (e.g. A or B) represents a complete mock exam, matching the real exam’s number of papers and timings. Within each exam type (e.g. Buckinghamshire or Slough), exams with different letters contain different questions. More exams mean more practice. Take them in any order.
