In 2021, Sir John Madejski, the former owner and chairman of Reading Football Club and the founder of AutoTrader, graciously lent his name to our scholarship programme. This initiative supports children facing the same early challenges that inspired his rise to an OBE for services to Reading and later a knighthood for services to the nation.

On August 26th, 2024, Marie met with Sir John to discuss the remarkable progress of our Sir John Madejski Scholarship students. During this meeting, he reaffirmed his commitment, ensuring that our scholarship students will benefit from completely free tuition for many years to come.

Scholarships are available for Year 5 students across our locations in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

Applications for Our Scholarships

Applications for the 2024/25 academic year (September 2024) closed at the end of 31st March 2024 and the scholarships were awarded at the end of May.

Applications for a Sir John Madejski Scholarship place for September 2025 are now open and will close at the end of 31st March 2025. Following a dedicated classroom assessment in April 2025, we will award our scholarships by 31st May 2025. Please note, the assessment does not consitute a trial lesson, no results will be shared with parents and the decision of Marie Redmond Tuition will be final.

All places are awarded confidentially - we will not announce your child's name and their teacher will not be aware that they are in receipt of a scholarship.
