The Marie Redmond Tuition® Difference
With our unique marking system, QuickMark® by Marie Redmond, we share critically important insights (where relevant to your child), that could make all the difference to their 11+ outcome. This could include but not be limited to: poor concentration levels in the exam hall; general behaviour; incorrect answer sheet marking technique and skipped questions. Our students receive valuable feedback to ensure that in subsequent mock exams and in their real 11+ test, they won’t make the same mistakes again. Our software shares valuable insights to ensure that your child is fully prepared for their big day.
With Marie Redmond Tuition you can make as many amendments to your child’s 11+ mock exam session as you wish, at no extra cost, either to an alternative 11+ mock test paper or your booking date. It’s easy to make a change too, and you can do so by simply logging into your account. All we require is at least 72 hours’ notice before the date of the 11+ mock exam booking you wish to change.
- Video Feedback for every incorrectly answered question, with Marie Redmond 11+ Intelligent Video Learning®
- Every 11+ mock exam paper and question is unique
- Real exam conditions – our 11+ mock exams are not online
- Administered using pre-recorded audio
Useful information

In short, the more exam sessions you book, the more practice your child will get.
Each mock exam session (e.g. exam A) simulates the real 11+ experience as closely as possible, with the same level of difficulty, number of papers, length of papers, and timings. For instance, if your child takes the Kendrick (GL-style) mock exams, they will sit two papers with a short break in between, just like the actual exam.
Your child can sit multiple mock exams, choosing different papers for the exam types they are preparing for. We offer 7 Buckinghamshire papers (A to G), 5 Slough, 5 Kendrick, 2 South West Herts and 3 Reading School papers.
Within each exam type, papers with different letters do not repeat questions. As one paper cannot cover every question type, attending additional sessions gives your child a broader range of practice.
Slough and Kendrick exams with the same letter are different papers but share some questions. These cannot be selected together in the same booking. To avoid repeating questions, we recommend choosing different letters even when booking separately, for example, Slough A and Kendrick B.
11+ Mock Exam Feedback
In under 48 hours of the 11+ mock test session you will receive a secure login to access Marie Redmond 11+ Intelligent Video Learning®.
For every question your child answers incorrectly, you’ll receive:
- The question they took.
- The answer they gave.
- A video by Marie Redmond MEd, showing the actual question, the answer they should have given, and the technique to work it out.
You’ll have full control over the videos, and your child can watch them as many times as they wish before they sit their final test in the autumn.
Please note that full exam papers and completed answer sheets are not provided. Questions answered correctly are not included in the feedback or available separately on request.
Keeping the complete papers confidential helps prevent questions being shared with children who have yet to sit the exam. This protects the fairness of the tests and makes comparisons between students’ results more meaningful. It also protects our original exam content.
We provide more insights!
You’ll also receive:
- Your child’s overall score and how that compares with our pass mark, based on our past students’ performance in the real exam.
- Your child’s score for each paper.
- Your child’s score for each section, showing which topics they need to focus on.
- Comparison tables, showing anonymised scores and your child’s ranked position compared with students who took the exam this year and in all previous years.
- Additional insights on your child from the exam hall (where relevant), including issues with concentration, answer sheet marking techniques and general behaviour.
As Close as Possible to the Actual Exams
One of our core aims is to get as close to the real exam papers as possible. That’s why, each and every year, we meet with students in order to gain useful insights into the actual exams. During these meetings we have in-depth discussions about the types of questions they encountered, including any new types that hadn’t been seen previously.
In addition, we also discuss the timing of sections and the layout of the papers and answer sheets. Following our feedback sessions, we annually adapt our 11+ mock exam papers to ensure your child is thoroughly prepared, and on course to achieve the best grades.
Feedback from students
In 2026 our students reported that Marie Redmond Tuition’s 11+ mock exams were very similar to the actual test. The prevailing view was that the 11+ mock tests were ‘just like taking a mock exam’.
11+ Mock Exam Format
- All our Kendrick (GL Assessment-style) 11+ mock exam sessions are 2 hours 30 minutes long.
- Each test consists of two multiple-choice test papers, with separate multiple choice answer sheets.
- In line with the Kendrick variant of the GL-Assessment test, paper 1 covers mathematical and non-verbal/spatial reasoning skills. Paper 2 covers English and verbal reasoning.
- Each 11+ mock test paper is approximately 55 minutes long (45 minutes of questions plus 10 minutes of practice questions), with a short break between the tests.
- Our Kendrick 11+ mock exams are held in strict exam conditions at carefully selected locations.
- In accordance with the actual test, we use pre-recorded audio to introduce the tests, to explain the instructions for each section and to guide the practice questions. After students attempt the practice questions, the audio reads out the answers.
- We also offer Reading Boys 11+ mock exams.

Marie Redmond Tuition® Mock Exams are designed to be as close as possible to the actual exams. We regularly hold feedback sessions with students after they sit the 11+ tests, helping us gain valuable insights into their exam experiences.
During these sessions, our teachers discuss the types of questions students encountered, including any unfamiliar or new question types, as well as the timing of sections and the layout of the papers and answer sheets. These insights help us review and refine our mock papers to support your child’s preparation.
Although we cannot know exactly what will appear in the next Kendrick exam, feedback from students helps us keep our mock exams relevant and provide a realistic practice experience.
